“Jesus, the Anointed One, is always the same—yesterday, today, and forever. So don’t let anyone lead you astray with all sorts of novel and exotic teachings. It is more beautiful to feast on grace and be inwardly strengthened than to be obsessed with dietary rules which in themselves have no lasting benefit” (Hebrews 13:8-9)
“It is more beautiful to feast on grace and be inwardly strengthened.” The NKJ version says: “For it is good that the heart be established by grace.” There is a tremendous work of grace available to anyone who depends on it. Paul, in reminding the Galatians says God “called you in the grace of Christ” (Galatians 1:6). About himself, he also says: “God called me by His grace, and chose me from my birth to be His” (Galatians 1:15). Now that we too have been called by His grace (Ephesians 2:8-9), it becomes needful that we are established by the same grace. Peter likewise exhorted: “But continue to grow and increase in God’s grace and intimacy with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As we grow and increase in the grace of Christ, we are established and strengthened. Paul exhorted Timothy saying: “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1). Oh! The sufficient grace is in Jesus! John revealed: “grace and truth came by Jesus” (John 1:17). Jesus “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Hallelujah!
According to 2 Timothy 1:2, may we pray for one another like Paul did: “I pray for a greater release of God’s grace, love, and total well-being to flow into your life from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.” Amen.
