Why This?

“David said, ‘I’ve been a shepherd, tending sheep for my father. Whenever a lion or bear came and took a lamb from the flock, I’d go after it, knock it down, and rescue the lamb. If it turned on me, I’d grab it by the throat, wring its neck, and kill it. Lion or bear, it made no difference—I killed it. And I’ll do the same to this Philistine pig who is taunting the troops of God-Alive. God, who delivered me… will deliver me from this Philistine’” (1 Samuel 17:34-36)
We have questions about life. Why this? Now, David saw those experiences with the bear and the lion differently. David was in many regards, within his family, the last and the least in their eyes. He was the one who took charge of the sheep. Why this David could ask? As much as it might have seemed better to have zero encounters with bears or lions or other preys, David, understood that being a shepherd of sheep means the possibilities were very real.
Why this? The sheep were precious to David and his family, but also precious food to bears or lions. Yet in all, these experiences would prove a pivotal piece in God’s faultless purpose for David which still stands today. “He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good” (Romans 8:28).
“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?” (Romans 8:31). For Your glory Lord.
