“Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty’” (Luke 17:7-10)

It's indeed a privilege, and a significant one, to be even a servant of the Most High God. The Spirit revealed it this way: “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands. Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else” (Acts 17:24-25). It’s truly not a position anyone deserves, but a privilege to wait upon Him. Again, the Spirit says: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy” (1 Peter 2:9-10).

So, let us go out with grateful hearts in service always towards Christ. Hence, David sang: “Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing” (Psalm 100:2).
