“You people who live in Jerusalem will not weep any more. The LORD is compassionate, and when you cry to Him for help, He will answer you. The Lord will make you go through hard times, but He Himself will be there to teach you, and you will not have to search for him anymore” (Isaiah 30:19-20)
Sometimes, it’s difficult to understand what God is doing, but it’s a wise choice to retain that He's good because He is. The promise in those verses contains times of joy and trials too, yet the final outcome glorifies God and blesses lives. In Genesis 37, Joseph’s life started with the delightful dream, yet its path was prepared with trials by God Himself. Psalm 105:17 says: “But He sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who had been sold as a slave.” The man sent by God now a slave of others? However, Isaiah writes: “The LORD is compassionate….” God will not allow us to carry a load He knows we cannot bear (1 Corinthians 10:13), and through the hard times, “He himself will be there to teach you, and you will not have to search for Him anymore.”
God brings us (like He did for Joseph) into maturity. As a result, Isaiah continues: “You will take your idols plated with silver and your idols covered with gold, and will throw them away like filth, shouting, ‘Out of my sight!’ Whenever you plant your crops, the Lord will send rain to make them grow and will give you a rich harvest, and your livestock will have plenty of pasture” (Isaiah 30:22-23). Patience did its perfect work (James 1:2-4), where only God reigns and His people delight in His name! Father, humbly teach us what You’re doing today. Amen.
