“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well” (Psalm 139:13-14)
The last phrase of the prophetic verses above call for utmost dedication in order to walk in the high-calling of God for us. “I know that full well.” While a lot of attention might be given to knowing our physical being which does fade with time, most important of all is knowing the beauty of our created inmost being, knit within the unseen, engineered in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The psalmist added: “My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:15-16). Therein lies excellence and wellness, ordained by God. Paul understood this at a point and said: “God set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace” (Galatians 1:15). Thoughtfully made! The psalmist continued: “How precious to me are Your thoughts, how vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand — when I awake, I am still with you” (Psalm 139:17-18)
Can anyone count the sands on a seashore? Yet God’s thoughts for each one outnumbers them! This brings vitality and peace. Paul gave this insight: “But if anyone loves God, he is known by God” (1 Corinthians 8:3). In loving God, He reveals Himself to us and there we know us better and there we find His fullness too (Ephesians 3:16-21).
