“I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed Me” (Genesis 22:17-18)

Abraham was indeed a blessed man. His servant, Eleazar, spoke about this to Rebecca’s family: “And the Lord has greatly blessed my master; he has become a wealthy man. The Lord has given him flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, a fortune in silver and gold, and many male and female servants and camels and donkeys” (Genesis 24:35). The Lord’s blessing makes us become blessed. One thing is certain: we today didn’t eat from his flocks, sheep, goats and the likes. While these things can be seen as ‘tangible blessings,’ yet there is ‘the blessing’ for which the Lord said: “and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed.” Herein is the blessing. Galatians 3:14 says: “Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing He promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promise Holy Spirit through faith.” Abraham had the presence of God’s Spirit always with him! Now, we too, through Jesus Christ have received the SAME BLESSING, the promised Holy Spirit through faith! Hallelujah!

Ephesians 1:3 declares: “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” So, by faith alone, let’s keep coming to Jesus and know the things He has freely given to us (1 Corinthians 2:12). Praise the Lord!
