“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in Him it has always been “Yes.” For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so, through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come” (2 Corinthians 1:18-22)

These are sure words of strength and comfort in Christ. The Holy Spirit reminds us that “no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.” This is certain because God is faithful (2 Corinthians 1:18). God isn’t flippant with words as humans can be saying YES when they mean NO. God said Himself: “Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, so will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them” (Isaiah 55:10-11).

In His promise, He even makes us stand firm in Christ. To assure of His promises, He anointed us and placed His seal of “my own” on us. To crown His promises, He put His eternal Spirit in our hearts. Let’s continually respond through Christ with the AMEN. Amen!
