“My heart is on fire, boiling over with passion. Bubbling up within me are these beautiful lyrics as a lovely poem to be sung for the King. Like a river bursting its banks, I’m overflowing with words, spilling out into this sacred story” (Psalm 45:1-2)

A praise life. This now is the life we’ve been graciously brought into through Jesus! Hebrews 13:15 says: “So we no longer offer up a steady stream of blood sacrifices, but through Jesus, we will offer up to God a steady stream of praise sacrifices—these are “the lambs” we offer from our lips that celebrate his name!” Imagine having to carry doves or lambs continually as sacrifices for our sins, and year after year. It must have been laborious and costly. But God, paid for us through Jesus! So, our lips continually celebrate His name for what He has already done. “He called you out of darkness to experience His marvellous light, and now He claims you as His very own. He did this so that you would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world” (1 Peter 2:9).

So, with our lips (and our lives), we make this broadcast. Let’s thoughtfully write and sing new songs to Him, telling others of this blessed assurance. “Beautiful! Beautiful! Beyond the sons of men! Elegant grace pours out through every word You speak. Truly God has anointed You, His favoured One, for eternity… You are full of beauty and splendour as you go out to war! In your glory and grandeur go forth in victory! Through Your faithfulness and meekness the cause of truth and justice will stand. Awe-inspiring miracles are accomplished by Your power, leaving everyone dazed and astonished” (Psalm 45)! Hallelujah!
