Perfect Moment? ⏰

“I hope to visit you soon, but just in case I’m delayed, I’m writing this letter so you’ll know how things ought to go in God’s household, this God-alive church, bastion of truth” (1 Timothy 3:14)
Paul the apostle teaches us the need to seize every moment and keep going. He had plans to visit Timothy, and though he wasn’t delayed, yet he considered it needful to get the work going, writing to him. “Just in case I’m delayed, I’m writing this letter so you’ll know how things ought to go.” There may never be a perfect moment to do the things we know to do or desire to do. Ephesians 5:16 advocates: “So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!” Paul acted quite thoughtfully. Ephesians 5:17 also advocates: “Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to find out and do whatever the Lord wants you to." To the church in Corinth likewise, Paul catered for certain needs through his letters and then he added: “I’ll give you instructions about the other matters after I arrive.” He seized each moment and made it count. Jesus, the Life, said: “We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent Me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over.”
There may never be a perfect moment to make amends, to reach out to someone, to take a step or consider that plan. We need will to get going and know what the Lord wants us to do: maybe write a letter, send a message or make that phone call, and so on. Let’s seize the moments today.
