“I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time….” (1 Corinthians 15:3-7)

Priceless is the resurrection of the Christ! Paul, writing to the saints (and to us) about the Good News of Jesus says: “I passed on to you what was most important.” The NIV says: “…of first importance.” It is weighty and significant! The resurrection of Jesus is the assurance of the abundant life of God to all who believe in Him, here on earth and in the eternal heaven! It is the hope of all good hopes!

Romans 8:11 says: “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” What God did for Jesus, He does for us too! Peter summed it this way: “What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have Him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole” (1 Peter 1:3-5). Hallelujah!
