Not Too Hard

“Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:26-27)
When God asks a rhetorical question such as this, He is inviting yet challenging us to come up higher in faith. God completed His declaration above to Jeremiah saying: “Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it” (Jeremiah 32:28). He is the ‘God of all flesh’, hence of all nations. There are no hearts He cannot reach, no hearts that He cannot save if He chooses to (Romans 9:15). Ezekiel prophesied: “And I WILL give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them; I WILL remove their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 11:19). ‘Is there anything too hard for me?’ says our Lord.
Are you trusting the Lord to restore or save someone or hoping for a heart’s change? Let’s keep looking unto Jesus, the Lord of grace, fixing our eyes on Him who authors and finishes our faith. Romans 5:17 says: “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!” How much more! Romans 5:20 says too: “The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more.” All the more! Father, we choose to believe that nothing is too hard for You!
