“Because of the increase of wickedness (sin, lawlessness), the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:12-13)

It’s encouraging Jesus said the “love of most” not the “love of all” will grow cold. So, we can be unique and stand in His love. The love of God is a keeper and its powerful to preserve, so let’s not be disillusioned by the lawlessness in our midst, but be encouraged to pursue the way of love. Romans 8:38-39 says: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” So, we can love just as Christ loves us. Though in the last days “people will be lovers of themselves,” yet we can be a people who are the love-salt on the earth. Peter exhorted saying: “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” The ‘most important of all’ and it can overcome the progress of sin.

Love is a strong bond. Colossians 3:13-14 exhorts: “Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity.” Since loving God and loving our neighbour are God’s greatest commands, its certain He will back them up. So, in His power, let’s love it up! Praise the Lord.
