“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of His infallible Word so that we would fulfill His chosen destiny for us and become the favourite ones out of all His creation” (James 1:17-18)

These truthful words should cause us to shout God’s praise: HALLELUJAH! Gifted freely. Good and perfect. Streams of light. Shone upon by divinity. No darkness. Birthed in delight. Conceived by infallible truth. Chosen for His unique destiny. Favourited! This is us through Christ! It behoves upon us to consider and receive these truths that we might walk gloriously in them. James says our Father is “the Father of lights.” There’s none other. He birthed even the physical lights, in His goodness, that bless our every day. Psalm 136 says: “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever… to the one who made the great lights… the sun to rule the day… the moon and stars to rule the night, His faithful love endures forever” (Psalm 136:1,8-9). I am grateful there’s light from God to penetrate every facet of my life, even the known and unknown dark places for His glory.

So, Ephesians 5:8-9 says: “Now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.” Glory! Now, we can profess: ‘I am created anew only for the good things, the right things and the true things!’ I am lighted by Christ! Amen.
