“Go ahead and celebrate! Come on and clap your hands, everyone! Shout to God with the raucous sounds of joy! The Lord God Most High is astonishing, awesome beyond words! He’s the formidable and powerful King over all the earth” (Psalm 47:1-2)
We must keep listening to God’s words to know who our Heavenly Father is. Romans 10:17 does say: “Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.” The faith to take a step in life comes through this process. Now, Psalm 47:3-4 continues: “He’s the one who conquered the nations before us and placed them all under our feet. He’s marked out our inheritance ahead of time, putting us in the front of the line, honouring Jacob, the one He loves.” Paul may have listened to this psalm before. When he stood before a leadership council in Athens, he said: “From one man, Adam, He (God) made every man and woman and every race of humanity, and He spread us over all the earth. He sets the boundaries of people and nations, determining their appointed times in history” (Acts 17:26). At the end of Paul’s discourse, some people ridiculed him, yet some said: “We want to hear you again later about these things” and there “were some who believed the message and joined him from that day forward” (Acts 17:33-34).
Wow! We keep hearing! Truly a faithful confidence comes by hearing the words of Christ! Hebrews 10:35-37 assures: “So don’t lose your bold, courageous faith, for you are destined for a great reward! You need the strength of endurance to reveal the poetry of God’s will and then you receive the promise in full. For soon and very soon, “The One who is appearing will come without delay!” Amen.
