“God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in Him. In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world, we are just like Him” (1 John 4:16-17)

The same blessing which Abraham had, we’ve learnt that God has given us through Jesus: the promised Holy Spirit. Isaiah prophesied about Jesus: “Here is My servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT ON HIM, and He will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed He will not break, and a smouldering wick He will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope” (Matthew 12:14-18).

The same Spirit, and because of the Spirit, Jesus was empowered to “proclaim justice to the nations,” teaching the people to be just and fair towards others. He was neither quarrelsome nor unruly. Peter testified to this: “When they hurled their insults at Him (Jesus), He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted himself to Him who judges justly” (1 Peter 2:23). Jesus didn’t break a ‘bruised reed’ meaning the weak. Instead, He helped them to stand (Matthew 11:28-30). He didn’t choke the little light from others, but gave His life-light abundantly (John 10:10). Hence, all can place our hopes in Him!

This same Holy Spirit who was with Jesus is with us. Priceless! Father, help us learn from Jesus that we too will receive the supply of the Spirit without limit!
