
His Love Satisfies

“Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as You have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May Your deeds be shown to Your servants, Your splendour to their children. May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands” (Psalm 90:14-17)
The prayer of Moses opens our hearts to consider the measureless and valiant capacity of God. He acknowledges that God can satisfy above affliction. While some disciples departed from Jesus, Peter spoke: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God” (John 6:68-69). This satisfaction makes us sing for joy and be glad all our days is Him, the Christ. Hence, Jesus did speak: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace” (John 16:33). This satisfaction is rooted in the unfailing love of God.
So, Paul prayed for the Ephesians: “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19). It leads us into God’s fullness. Praise Jesus!
A love that surpasses all our knowledge and understanding. Because His mercies are new this morning, so we can be glad and sing for joy.
