“And He (God) did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in Him, and He will continue to rescue us. And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety” (2 Corinthians 1:10-11)

A songwriter sang: “I was lost in a desert land. So dry and thirsty, but God was there where he'd always been, giving grace and mercy. So hard to sing and hard to pray. Yet I knew his word was true and then one day my faith returned and suddenly I knew, somebody's praying for me. Somebody's knocking on heaven's door.” What a help indeed! We can help others with our prayers as Paul testified and he valued it. In 1 Thessalonians 5:25, he requested: “Brothers and sisters, pray for us.”

Again, in his second letter, he requested from them: “As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you” (2 Thessalonians 3:1). Sometimes, when we think of helping others, we ponder over what our abilities can do, but with the help of prayers, we are considering what God’s abilities will do. James however said: “The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with” (James 5:16).

So, who will we help with our prayers? When answered, its results in thanksgiving to God from many people! So, God’s interested because it ends in glorifying Him!
