“For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land” (Psalm 95:3-5)

The depths of the earth are His. The mountain peaks are His. The seas are His. The dry lands are also His. The psalmist thoughtfully gives us these details to assure and remind us that the elements of the earth are God’s. Psalm 24:1 says: “God claims Earth and everything in it, God claims World and all who live on it. He built it on Ocean foundations, laid it out on River girders.”

What then should be our faith response? David teaches us singing: “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care” (Psalm 95:6-8). God can care for us. Again, David sang: “Today, if only you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts…” (Psalm 95:9).

The Holy Spirit is stirring our hearts towards faith and He doesn’t want us to ignore or turn away from these words to us. So, what again should be our response? David again sang: “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song” (Psalm 95:1-3). He’s the great King above all human systems. Praise the Lord.
