“Hallelujah! O my soul, praise God! All my life long I’ll praise God, singing songs to my God as long as I live. Don’t put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life. Mere humans don’t have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them. Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in God and know real blessing!” (Psalm 146:1-3)

Many have made efforts to describe what life really means, by often seeking to fill ourselves with things, but in truth, to know God is to know what life truly means. Jesus once said to His listeners: “You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you’ll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about Me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren’t willing to receive from Me the life you say you want” (John 5:39-40).

Life’s truest meaning is found in Christ. This insight prompts us to see beyond the façade of things presented to us as life, but instead embrace what Jesus offers. Again, He said: “I (Jesus) came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of” (John 10:10). Jesus makes this known through the words that He speaks, and Peter said it this way with understanding: “Master, to whom would we go? You have the words of real life, eternal life. We’ve already committed ourselves, confident that You are the Holy One of God” (John 6:8-69).

Like Peter, we can commit ourselves to Him and His words too and find the life from the Expert of life!
