“God reached out, touched my mouth, and said, “Look! I’ve just put My words in your mouth—hand-delivered! See what I’ve done? I’ve given you a job to do among nations and governments—a red-letter day! Your job is to pull up and tear down, take apart and demolish, and then start over, building and planting” (Jeremiah 1:9-10)

Praise the Lord who enables us to ‘pull up and tear down, take apart and demolish, to start over, build and plant.’ He has made us His agents of change. This is true! The Holy Spirit said: “But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted” (1 Peter 2:9-10). We’re no longer the same. The things around us, contrary to God’s wisdom, don’t have to be the same anymore. The Spirit wrote through Paul: “The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

God makes this possible through His living word! In equipping Jeremiah, God said: “Look! I’ve just put My words in your mouth—hand-delivered!” Hence, Jesus did say: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth” (Matthew 4:4). Father, teach us to feast on Your word that we would be and do all You desire. Amen.
