“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 1:12-14)

Thank God for an enabled life! Yes. This new life God gave us is such that He desires to help us fulfil it. If we could live it by ourselves, then the Holy Spirit wouldn’t have come. Philippians 2:12-13 says: “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” For God is working in us to do what pleases Him.

Paul testified powerfully saying: “For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:9-10). Surely this makes us thankful! “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord” Paul declared. What then can we thank God for? God “counted me faithful.” He “enabled me.” He put me ‘me into the ministry.” God justified us, enabled us and birthed purpose in us! I thank Jesus Christ!
