“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others” (2 Timothy 2:1-2)

The Living Bible translation says: “O Timothy, my son, be strong with the strength Christ Jesus gives you.” There’s strength in the grace of Christ Jesus. This grace which is in and by Christ is powerful to establish our hearts even above all types of wrong teachings. Hebrews 13:9 says: “Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by foods of no value to those devoted to them.” This grace of Christ is our enabler. Paul attested to it saying: “But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out His special favour on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by His grace” (1 Corinthians 15:10). Paul said, ‘But whatever I am now.' Clearly, God’s grace makes us become all that He wants us to become in Him. Hallelujah!

This grace (and truth), John 1:17 says, came by Jesus! We turn to Him and learn from Him, and find rest in His grace. “Now I’m turning you over to God, our marvellous God whose gracious Word can make you into what He wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends” (Acts 20:32). Amen!
