“I yearn to come and be face-to-face with you and get to know you. For I long to impart to you some spiritual gift that will empower you to stand strong in your faith. Now, this means that when we come together and are side by side, something wonderful will be released. We can expect to be co-encouraged and co-comforted by each other’s faith!” (Romans 1:11-12)

Such is the bliss of fellowship! Co-encouraged and co-comforted. Paul so desired this that he said: “My desire and constant prayer is that I would succeed in coming to you, according to the plan and timing of God" (Romans 1:10). So, nurturing a fellowship with those of like faith is Christ-like and beneficial. Paul said in such a place, there’s impartation and “something wonderful will be released.” John also sharaes this insight. In writing to the ‘chosen lady and her children’ (2 John 1), he penned these words: “Although I have many more subjects, I’d like to discuss with you, I’d rather not include them in this letter. But I look forward to coming to visit and speaking with you face-to-face—for being together will complete our joy!”

The psalmist described it this way: “How truly wonderful and delightful it is to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity! It’s as precious as the sacred scented oil flowing from the head of the high priest Aaron…” (Psalm 133:1-2). He ends the psalm with this: “This harmony can be compared to the dew dripping from Mount Hermon, which flows down upon the hills of Zion. Indeed, that is where Yahweh has decreed His blessings will be found, the promise of life forevermore!” Awesome!
