“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12)

A wonder-filled prayer! Writing to the believers in Thessalonica, Paul was thankful when he heard their faith kept on growing and growing even in the midst of persecutions and trials (2 Thessalonians 1:4). Truly, Jesus did tell us persecutions and trials will come. He faced them too.

2 Timothy 3:12 affirms: “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Yet, we don’t have another type of life to live, but this rich, everlasting and godly life which Christ purchased for us with His own priceless blood. So, Paul prayed that God “by His power He may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.” By His power. This is good news!

Philippians 2:12-13 tells us that as we continue to make this new life fully manifested as we live in the holy awe of God, God Himself “will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases Him.” He is working in us something greater than trials! May our Father continually bring to pass our every desire for goodness and every act prompted by faith for His glorious praise in Jesus’ name. Amen.
