“Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 9:10-11)

Generosity, in the name of the Lord, has a voice, a resounding voice of thanksgiving to God. “Through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” Now, it doesn’t end here. Paul continues: “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God” (2 Corinthians 9:12). Not only are needs met, there are also varied expressions of thanks to God. It still doesn’t end here. Paul again continues: “Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else” (2 Corinthians 9:13). Our obedience to the gospel of Christ through generosity, brings praises to God even from others and everyone else. It still doesn’t end here. Paul continues: “And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you” (2 Corinthians 9:14). Wow! Such is the grace that accompanies generosity, which we see in our Lord Jesus Christ. He offered Himself generously and now millions of hearts go out to Him!

Truly “the liberal soul shall be made fat” (Proverbs 11:25). Your generosity takes the name of the Lord everywhere. “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
