“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17)
We can hear the sincerity of the Spirit about our Heavenly Father. ‘Every good and perfect gift…’ He says: “There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.” This is truth because “He (our Father) brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all His creatures” (James 1:18).
His good and perfect gifts are also free! Oh, let’s believe it. Every day of our lives, we are in a search for light for our lives and life’s questions, and aur Father is the Father of lights. His light has multiple expressions as revealed to Paul when he wrote about our past, our now and our future saying: “You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So, no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours.”
The psalmist likewise exclaimed at the light: “How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore, the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light” (Psalm 36:7-9). His life-light is His true word, who is the Christ; no shadows, but light that shines over every darkness.
